Clima

Location: Menorca is the most oriental of the Balearic Islands in the western Mediterranean. Located at 40th parallel, and the minimum distance to the neighboring island of Mallorca is 18 miles. Orography: There are no significant heights. The highest point is Monte Toro, located in the center of the island, 358 meters. There is also no proper rivers, only torrents which are dry out of rainy season. They are some gaps and Lagoons, such as Es Grau, north of Mahon, which houses a large diversity of animal and plants. Features: The maximum length is about 48 kilometers, and width of 19.5. The area, including adjacent islands,  is more than 700 km2. An imaginary line that runs from the port of Mahon to Ciutadella the north of the island divided into two completely different geological regions. The northern area  is primary, secondary and quaternary, and is the one with the most mountainous landscape and abrupt coastlines, with beaches of golden sands. The southern, more uniform and  Tertiary, presents an almost flat surface traversed by deep ravines, and leads to a linear coast abound in the leafy coves and white sand. Climatology: Menorca enjoys a Mediterranean climate without extreme temperatures. . The strongest wind and damaging to the island is the North (Tramuntana), which in winter often reaches 50 knots. In summer, thermal winds usually blow on the coast, but  that do not cause bad state of the sea. The rainiest months are October and November, but September is also sometimes rainy.
